Good day, hashers!
Put on your festive spring best and join the Blooming Fools for the 10th or 11th annual Easter Keg Hash, taking place this Saturday, April 4, starting at 4 p.m. from Thornton Park in Bedford. That's right, Bedford. We've gone to no lengths to find the ultra-coolest, shiggiest-filled, limestone-littered adventure trail in the south-central part of Bedford for your hashing enjoyment. (The trail really is scenic, and it sucks, too.) Your hares will be (Bedford native) Titwad and (non-Bedford native) White Lightning, and the cost will be still only $5 (American). Virgins are free!
After the hash, the on on festivities will include the annual Easter Keg Hunt, in which the pack members will frolic in the woods to find small beer kegs in the manner of the classic Easter Egg Hunt of our youth. (Rules: No fighting, no pulling hair, no crying, no hissy fits, no taking kegs from other hashers. Play nice.)
To get to the start, take State Road 37 south out of Monroe County (you may want to carpool). When you get to Bedford, turn east onto U.S. 50 (there'll be big signs for East U.S. 50). Go about a little over a mile -- when you get into a school zone, get in the right lane. Turn right at the light onto Brian Lane Way, and immediately turn left into Thornton Park (between the two Easter Island statues). If the Thornton Park parking lot is full, park on Brian Lane Way outside the elementary school. Park, frolic, hash.
