Cowabunga!

Get out of the heat at the first annual* 2010 BFH3 Donner Beach Party Hash, taking place on Saturday, January 9, starting at 3 p.m. from the sunny golden shores of Yellowwood Lake in Yellowwood State Forest. The hare (White Lightning) will have summery cold beverages, orange food and popsicles before, during and after the shiggy-ful trail. Swimsuits optional.

The cost will be the usual $5, unless you’re a first-time Blooming Fool, in which case you get to run around and drink with us for free. Dog-friendly trail.

Directions: The hash will start in the parking lot of the Jackson Creek trail, on the north side of Yellowwood Lake (0.7 miles north of the forest office). Here’s a link to some directions:

You can get there heading east from Bloomington on IN-46 or IN-45 – follow the signs from the highways either way to Yellowwood State Forest, and look for hashers in the parking lot of the Jackson Creek Trail (north of the forest office and the shelterhouse and way north of the boat ramp). If you can’t find the hash, call 812-219-6566, and we’ll try to find you. (If we can get a cell phone signal, that is. Which we probably can’t.)
