Spring has sprung, peepers are peeping, rabbits are mating like, um, rabbits -- and it’s time for the Blooming Fools’ 13th annual (yes!) Easter Keg Hash!
The festivities will begin at a SPECIAL TIME OF 3 PM* on Saturday, April 3, at Wapehani Mountain Bike Park in Bloomington. Your hares, Just Allen and White Lightning, promise a minty-fresh springlike trail through the shiggy of southwest Bloomington, accompanied by the usual hash smorgasbord of artificially flavored and artificially colored ingestibles of low nutritional value. Oh, and there’ll be BEER.
Also, after the circle, stay for the 13th annual Blooming Fools Easter Keg Hunt! Yes, relive those magic Easter egg hunts of your childhood, when you were trampled by other children in a desperate competition for scarce candy resources – only in the hash version, you’ll be looking for hidden kegs of beer! (Notice: During the Easter Keg Hunt itself, shoving, tripping, wrestling, eye-gouging, stealing, sabotaging, and/or any other type of unsportsmanlike conduct between hashers will be strictly prohibited.)
Make plans now for the 13th Annual Easter Keg Hunt Hash this Saturday, starting at 3 PM. A shiggy trail, orange food and beer, and more beer on top of that – what’s not to love?!
ON friggin’ ON.

* You may be wondering: 3 pm? Didn’t the last hare just make a big thing out of the fact that we were going to start trails at 4 pm instead of 3 pm? Well, yes, from now on until the time changes again in the fall, hashes are going to start at 4 pm. EXCEPT THIS ONE. A contingent of hashers are going to the Banff Film Festival at the Buskirk-Chumley, which starts at 7 pm, so we’re starting at 3 pm to accommodate these hasher pains-in-the-ass. Oh, they’re gonna drink for it, too.
Directions to the start: Wapehani Mountain Bike Park is on the southwest side of Bloomington, north of Tapp Road and just east of 37. To get there, take 37 to Tapp Road, and head east on Tapp. Go about 3/4th of a mile (I don’t know, could be two miles, could be a quarter-mile…I have no sense of distance, I’m a hasher, dammit!), and turn left (north) onto Weimer Road. Go north until the road curves west, then before Weimer curves north again, continue west onto a very poorly paved road into the park. Park, hash.
