Hotter Than July Hash
07/24/2010 - 16:00
07/24/2010 - 19:00
Etc/GMT-4

It's mothershuckin' hot out there! Temps in the 90s. Humidity higher than that. The smart thing would be to stay inside and keep cool with the AC cranked to 11.
Screw that, we're hashers. So come on out in the heat and run some of the shiggiest trail imaginable. Heatstroke be damned.

We'll start at Yellowwood Lake, so anyone who overheats can be cooled off biblical-style.

Your ne'er-do-well hares will be Mothershucker and Pvt. Hairy O'Toole, who will provide the heat, humidity, beer, orange food, beer, humidity and heat. Stevie Wonder braids and oversized dark glasses are the responsibility of the individual hashers.

Hash start time: 4 p.m. Cost: $5, or free to first-timers.

Directions to the Yellowwood Lake Dam from East Third Street and the 45/46 Bypass:

Go east about 10.4 miles from Third and the Bypass on SR 46. Turn left on Yellowwood Road at the old Knight's Grocery. Follow Yellowwood Road over hill and dale for about 1-1/4 miles until you come to a T. Turn left at the T to stay on Yellowwood Road. Go about a mile and turn left on Jackson Creek Road. You'll be going downhill after you make the turn. In about 1/4 mile, turn right toward the dam. There's a sign for the dam at the turn.

You can also access Jackson Creek Road directly from SR46. It's on the left, about 9.5 miles from Third & the Bypass. But be aware that the road crosses two shallow streams this way, so cars with low clearance may bottom out slightly at the crossings.
